What Your Birth Month Says About Your College Storage Habits
It's that time of year again. The time when college students nationwide pack up their dorm rooms and head home for the summer. Some students lug everything back home with them, while others rent a storage unit for the summer. But have you ever stopped to think that your college storage style might be connected to your birth month? It may sound crazy, but many believe your birth month can determine your personality, career choice, and even future spouse. We think it says a lot about your college storage style too. At Storage Scholars, we have done some digging and found some surprising correlations. So, sit back, relax, and see what your birth month says about your college storage habits.
If you were born in January, chances are you are a student who takes storage and moving seriously. You are naturally very organized and hold yourself accountable to a strict code of conduct when it comes to important matters, making packing and moving out of college a methodically planned task, complete with checklists every step of the way. Chances are, you've given yourself plenty of time, acquiring boxes and packing supplies far in advance and having the majority of your belongings already packed weeks before move-out, never at the last minute. You can be a tad critical of others, often giving an eye roll to your roommates scrambling to pack at the last minute.
January-born students make excellent Campus Co-Founders for an exciting Storage Scholars internship. Not only will they appreciate the structured training, but they were also born to lead a team of like-minded students on campus.
February students are night owls, often choosing to wait and pack their belongings late into the night. If February is your birth month, you have a creative and daring soul. You have probably crafted innovative ways to store your items rather than inside a traditional brown cardboard box. Or your boxes are decorated with colorful markers, pretty labels, or fancy tape so everyone knows they're yours. February-born people tend to be stubborn but loyal. While acquiring your business during storage season may be challenging, you will likely use the same company year after year if they provide exceptional service. You love to travel and thrive on adventure, especially when nature is involved. So, while semester-long storage is a must for you as you study abroad for a semester, you likely don't actually keep too many possessions to store–some may even call you a minimalist!
February-born students make excellent Campus Marketing Managers too! Storage Scholars offers a wonderful paid internship opportunity for hardworking, productive February-born students to nurture their creative side!
March-born students are known to be generous and compassionate. While packing up for summer, it's common for you to donate many of your excess belongings to other students in need instead of selling them. Although, because of your quiet nature, you probably are keen on doing so anonymously. You are also known to be creative and imaginative, creating unique solutions to common problems. Think clever Pinterest storage hacks…March-born students are the creative brains behind the Pinterest boards for the rest of us! But you are also introverted and keep to yourself, so others are surprised when they see your expressive and clever talents.
Born in April? Then you probably already know that you're a natural-born leader. Others might look at you as bossy, impulsive, or stubborn; let's face it, you tend to get what you want. You have probably figured out a way to get free moving boxes and supplies (ok, Storage Scholars doesn't make it that hard, but I digress…). You have a lineup of movers ready to haul your heavy boxes from point A to point B because you know how to get things done. April students are charismatic, intelligent, and fearless. If you see a new innovative solution for moving and summer storage, you will undoubtedly be the first to test it out, then rave about it to all of your friends, who will follow you by example.
May students have the music blaring while packing! Jamming out to your favorite tunes makes the task a breeze. You are social by nature, so most likely, packing is a dorm event, simultaneously packing with your roommates and swapping ideas and suggestions for packing hacks. When it comes to moving, the more, the merrier! It's fun to get everyone involved. You likely know all the names of your student movers already because you seem to have friends everywhere! If you hired Storage Scholars to move you out, you probably scored some matching swag from the team.
Students born in June are curious thinkers! You ask tons of questions before committing to a moving and storage company. This is great because then you are truly satisfied with your educated decision. While packing, you can get overwhelmed and frustrated easily, so doing it in small increments is really important. Tackle one box or living area per day until the packing is complete. When all is said and done, you can't resist the urge to gossip, so if you had a bad experience, the world would know, but if you had a great experience, then the world will also get to read about it when you write a raving Google Review! June students are empathetic, and it is common to see you offering to help a roommate with their packing once you're done with yours.
July-born individuals are known to be adventurous, so It's likely that you will need to pack up and move for an exciting semester abroad at least once in your college experience. You are great at decluttering, which comes in handy when moving or storing items for college. You have a knack for making the most of limited space and can find innovative ways to store your belongings. Your practical and methodical approach to moving and storage makes you great at helping others with the same task. Those born in July tend to be highly motivated, making that referral bonus an easy way to save money on summer storage each year.
If you were born in August, you tend to overthink matters, so you carefully weighed all of your options for summer storage and moving, listed the pros and cons, and made a truly informed decision. You are the roommate who printed a packing checklist, so you don't forget a thing. And your kind heart likely printed one out for others, too. You are family-oriented, so you have meticulously packed away your family pictures and are excited to go home on summer break to see everyone.
If you were born in August, you might have a tendency toward community service. Your firm leadership qualities make you an exceptional Storage Scholars internship candidate! You are also observant and systematic, with a quick ability to think on your feet which helps in those leadership roles.
September-born students are sports lovers. If you aren't too busy watching a game to pack, then chances are you're packing up your fan gear with a baseball game on the TV in the background. You are known to be intelligent and organized, making packing straightforward. You know where and how to effectively pack up your belongings most efficiently with little direction. You get annoyed when your roommates are not as efficient and have messes lying around while you are packing and cleaning.
If born in October, you likely have an active social life, leaving little to no time for packing. You may have left it to the last minute because you are too busy with other things! While most dorms and RAs have deadlines, your charming personality and relentless fight make it difficult for others to argue with you. You'll probably get away with stretching those limits and procrastinating past your deadlines. You're fiercely independent, so the job will get done one way or another without help from outside. October students are lovers of literature and art. Hence, books and artistic dorm décor fill many boxes to pack and store for summer.
Our November students are the cheerleaders! You rally your roommates and motivate them to get their packing done early and make their storage decisions before the spots fill up. You are kind, though, and not pushy, being a perfect inspiration that your procrastinator roommates need. But you also tend to become easily overwhelmed and stressed, but you never let anyone know. Don't bottle in your worries–take some time for self-care during this stressful time. Don't try and do it all by yourself. Using a company like Storage Scholars can remove the burden that move-out can have on a busy college student (especially one born in November!).
December-born students are confident, never second-guessing themselves. You enjoy freedom, so chances are high that you'll pack the dorm room and head straight for adventure–a summer abroad or a summer internship in the city on your own. You find it hard to sit still, so packing is often done while dancing around the dorm room or in small increments. You are free-spirited and unconventional, which shows in your packing habits—not following the "rules for packing" and likely forgetting to defrost the mini fridge in advance.
Well, there you have it. Who knew your birth month could reveal so much about your college storage and moving style? Whether you're a January baby who likes to keep organized or an October baby who is a bit of a procrastinator, we at Storage Scholars are here to help.
